    The dismantling and destruction of subsistence welfare was fully endorsed by the left and major disability charities. A large part of the welfare reform legislation was authored by liberal and left wing politicians this is a fact that some left wing commentators conveniently forget.

    There was no way that a progressive Conservative Government could dismantle and destroy subsistence welfare in the U.K. without the complicit support of the other major political parties and the charitable third sector.

    As the draconian effects of welfare reform become more evident to the British public over the next couple of years it will throw a blanket of shame over those Paralympians whom did not speak-out.
