Outrage over Church of England’s prayer of thanksgiving for major cause of global warming

The Church of England are in hot water after revealing a new prayer which includes thanksgiving for “the working cows, the dry cows and for the bulls and calves”.

An environmental spokesperson has been quoted as saying:

Has the CofE not even considered that cow flatulence is a major cause of global warming? Although the science on this is somewhat uncertain, we feel the CofE should have heeded our wild speculations on cow fart contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. This prayer of blessing is a prayer for the end of the world.

A Secular organisation has also lambasted the prayers, accusing the CofE of assuming these cows are Christian and imposing their beliefs, blessings, and prayers, on the cows, effectively equates to cattle abuse.

A member of the cow fraternity had this to say:

“Experts claim cows are responsible for about 3% of Britain’s greenhouse gases”

So – cut down on the other 97% and we might be getting somewhere! Why need traditional farming methods get slagged off? Grass grows on hillsides. Cows eat grass and produce food for us from land that is otherwise unusable!
    A no brainer.

    Blessings
    Terry

  3. Roger Pearse Says:

But does the ” environmental spokesperson” break wind or not? Until we know this, how can we evaluate whether to listen to her claims?

  4. Caral Says:

If we presume the spokesperson is a ‘she’ Roger, I think without any doubt the obvious answer is a resounding ‘No’, for you should know daughters of Eve, do not break wind, ever! It is ‘puffing with panache’.

  5. Peter Kirk Says:

    Cow fraternity, Stuart?

So, Caral, presumably the cow sorority is innocent of the charge and global warming is all the fault of the bull fraternity? Or is this all a load of bullocks?
