Opinions opinions everywhere and yet not a drop to drink.

Opinions, opinions, opinions, everywhere I look opinions on every subject; on the Blogs, on Twitter, in the media, in books….OPINIONS. Some insightful, some brilliant, some strong, some crap; but opinions nonetheless.

I’m scouring the usual sources and doing the necessary reading and yet there doesn’t seem to be a new opinion under the sun for me. I catch a faint glimmer and then it’s flown as if scared to be caught by me.

Opinions are plentiful, but I don’t want other’s opinions, I want to formulate my own, as I’ve done in times gone.

I have run dry of my opinion potion, perhaps others have snuck in unbeknown to me and stolen it for themselves. How else can I explain their glut of opinions in the face of my drought.

And so I cannot conjure an original opinion on anything.

A painful place for a blogger I can tell you.

Perhaps I have already used up my opinions quota and that’s an end to it.

Perhaps I’m losing my faith.

Everybody has opinions except me……

Omnishambles U.K. maybe it is time to set aside the keyboard for the tried and tested soapbox – testing and returning expressions of opinions to the streets. That tenuous fibre that dangles the delusion of virtual political and social gratification is being stretched to breaking point, disscuss this further over an opinion forming beer, your buying Webmaster.

Opinions. Of course you have opinions, and you have opinions about other peoples opinions otherwise you wouldn’t label them in the way that you have done. It is just that you don’t feel opinionated about those opinions in the way that many others might feel about their own opinions.

At the moment you just want to let things flow over you because, and I was reminded of this quote by Archdruid Eileen, having opinions is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Some days you only have them now and again, whereas other days you are raring to go and can barely hold yourself back, and then there are the times when you just want to relax, lie back, and think of England with a smile on your face, while everyone all around you get themselves all hot and bothered and worked up into a lather.

So just lie back and go with the flow. Relax. Don’t run to make opinions. Let those opinions come to you instead.

Writers go dry when they give out but don’t take in. We all need stimulus from others. If you read nothing, you can write nothing.
