58% of Southerners believe in miracles
Premier Christian Radio are reporting a ‘vox pops poll’ which reveals the following:
Questions asked of 1,500 men and women.
March to May 2012. Southern England. Non specific age groups
1. Do you believe in Miracles?
YES 58%
NO 26%
UNSURE 16%2. Do you know anyone who claims to have witnessed a Miracle?
YES 55%
NO 45%3. Have you personally witnessed what you believe to be a Miracle?
YES 32%
NO 68%
I’ve asked Premier for information on the sample and a link to the research.
It strikes me that the term “miracle” is rather ambiguous; however, if we were to view it as an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws, then this would be significant.
If “miracle” is defined as simply a highly improbable serendipitous event, then this is less significant.
I’ll update if I get a response from Premier.

Will they include “catholic” miracles or UFO sightings? This could be very broad indeed.

That’s eactly right Gordon, I suspect the definition of “miracle” is in the eye of the beholder.
