Hang on Roger. We're not all into gratuitously harrassing Christians. Unfortunately the headlines are reserved for the more outspoken or outrageous words and deeds.

I agree that if the act of exorcism is of benefit to someone with mental health issues then it is something that could be considered. If someone believes something like that will make a difference, it's amazing how effective that treatment can be. It does not matter whether its effect is 'real' or not. There are many similar examples. For instance Voodoo curses only work if the subject knows of them and believes they will.

I was also very sceptical about the effectiveness of hypnotherapy, but having been studying and practicing it for the past year I am something of a convert.. We don't yet know exactly how it works (though there are several theories), but the fact is that it often works. Who am I to deny people the comfort and relief that exorcism may bring.

My caveat would be that it should not be foisted on someone who does not understand or want it, and there have been some very disturbing stories of extreme violence to individuals assumed to be possessed by demons. This is to me is where it becomes unacceptable .

It's just an attempt at harassment by atheists. They don't care squit about the issues; but anything that allows them to put Christians on trial, or drag them through a drawn-out process .... well, that's fine.

Always remember that "the process is the punishment" (Ezra Levant) in these cases.

<i>"...demon possessed at one end of the spectrum..."</i>

Demonic Spectrum Disorder?

On another, lighter, note (pun not intended). I considered emailing one of my brothers a photo of a new light bulb I put into a socket but he doesn't get my sense of humour unfortunately.
