Anti-abortion hacker attacks and defaces British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) website under guise of #Anonymous

Remember the hacktivist group Anonymous, who recently attacked and took down the Vatican website?

Well it looks like an anti-abortion hacker has had a crack at their expense.

This British based hacker launched 26.000 attacks on the website of abortion providor British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), over a six-hour period on Thursday. He also defaced the website with an anti-abortion message, and used the Anonymous logo.

He’s now been arrested and you can read details of the incident and hacker here.

It will be interesting to watch how Anonymous responds to this attack carried out in their name.

  1. Peter Kirk Says:

But how do we know that the anti-abortionist was not part of the real Anonymous and that the Vatican hackers were? Or perhaps both were, because the structure of a group like that (like that of certain church denominations as well!) allows it to include people holding and promoting diametrically opposite views.

The whole point of Anonymous is that anybody can play, without knowing anybody else involved or doing any kind of planning. It doesn’t have much point, but that’s the point there is.
