Christian blogging: Some advice and experience
There’s two excellent posts around the subject of blogging, which I thought I’d mention here.
The first by Tim – The World’s Most Famous Christian Blogger ® – Challies, looking at how to start a blog.
The second by Michael – The Theological Juggernaut ® – Patton, reflecting on 5 years of blogging experience.
These guys are two very experienced, established, and successful Christian bloggers.

both have alexa rankings outside the range of what’s usually expected of ‘the best’.

“The first by Tim”
I thought, ‘That’s strange. I don’t remember writing anything about blogging.’
Then I thought, ‘In fact I don’t even have a blog anymore.’
Then I read on and went to the link. Ahhhh, now I see, lol.
I like what he says, and he makes some good advice but although I like reading other people’s blogs I am glad I don’t blog any more.
Firstly, things have always been difficult for me socially, even online. Secondly, I prefer to have thoughts and ideas on paper that I can hold and touch (and is also why I don’t like Kindles, as I prefer to buy something tangible where books are concerned).
Things online however can be lost in the blink of an eye, never to be seen again. I recently had the experience of losing literally hundreds of pages of online articles I had written as the website I had hosted it on (is that the right expression?) decided, with only several weeks notice, no more free websites and from now on everyone had to pay or the websites had to go. I had no longer used it for blogging since 2009 but it had a lot of information that others liked to follow up, plus a lot of tutorials on design for that particular site which people frequently accessed, so I kept the page ticking along. So after four years mine disappeared. C’est la vie.

Just read Michaels blog on the subject and that is seriously good. Funny with it too, lol.

Michael’s a fantastic blogger. So open and honest which is unusual nowadays.
And don’t worry, you’re not the only one to struggle socially
.
In fact – and Jim above may not agree – I seem to notice a trait in some bloggers, who don’t seem to be great socially in ‘real life’.
Sorry to hear of the loss of all your online articles.
