I was on Prestel as far back as 1982. Similar viewdata service.

@Gordon, Was that an early version of the Internet? If so, 1982 is simply staggering!

Neither of these is the Internet as such. You dialed into a central server and only had connection to that system which was updated centrally rather like a BBS. It did carry information for outside bodies though as is shown in that advert.

Looks like they superfast broadband there back in 1990. I remember sites loading a bit more slowly that that…
