    I had been thinking about this recently: what did those Catholic kids give up when I was in school? Chocolate came to mind [and sweets and pop]. Wow, I thought, could I do THAT?

    Then I had a REALLY serious thought for myself. How about giving up sin for Lent? “…bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”

    Beware. I immediately fell to the temptation that flooded in. But excuses behind, this requires our serious attention.
