Turkish government forced to recognise Orthodox Church by European Court of Human Rights
Yay, finally.
The Turkish government has been ordered by the European Court of Human Rights to return to the Orthodox Church the Buyukada orphanage. This has wider significance, in that the Turkish government must now formally recognise the Patriarchate as a legal entity.
This is a huge step forward.
