This is one reason why faith based organisations should not receive government funding

From The Problem with Religion Blog:

…….I was rather angered that the [government funded Faith Based Organsiation - FBO] recently received a slap on the wrists from the main funding authority for knocking on the doors of its residents’ rooms to invite them to its weekly ‘church’ service it holds in the centre’s refectory. I find this so hard to accept that the local authority should get so uptight about something like this, when there is so much effort into imposing a liberal worldview on centre clients around inclusive language, racism, gender roles, homophobia etc. and then something as simple as just asking residents if they want to attend a service is seen as ‘forcing religion’ down someone’s throat – whatever events are taking place in the centre, staff knock on residents’ doors to invite them to attend, so it was hardly proselytising. I said to the manager, when he told me this, that what they should do is call the local authority’s bluff and ask it to find accommodation for a 125 homeless people if it does not like the excellent service the FBO provides! I think [this FBO] is really wondering if accepting 77% of its income from the government is really where they want to go.

I also don’t think that religious objectives should be automatically charitable. organisations should have to prove a public benefit to be registered as charities. Surprisingly “being religious” is considered a public benefit even if the organisation does nothing constructive with all the tax money it reclaims on donations.

The main objective of UK charities at this time appears to be to destroy the wellfare state to create a destitute clientele to justify their existence and from that fall-out seize the welfare budget to line their own pockets.

Big society – corruption in the name of charity.

Support unconditional welfare managed and delivered by the State.

I tell you what Goy you’re not alone in condemning “Big Society”, I’m seeing it more and more and from unexpected sources as well…..

It’s making a lot of people nervous and suspicious to say the least.

And so they should be with the creation of a destitute clientele counted in the millions. Subdivisions in every British city “ghettos” to compete with the Third World. The first obvious signs of the “Big Society” maybe the social warehousing of destitute families in (To Let) office blocks.

    Wow, now there’s a thought!

  6. Goy Says:

How to be a “Big Society” millionaire.

    1. Form the “Big Society” Shelter Charity.

    2. Locate several vacant office blocks or warehouses preferably in a state of disrepair or deterioration – cheaper to lease.

    3. Hire several thugs to police and enforce evictions.

    4. Wait on the subsistence wellfare and housing benefit reforms to take full effect.

    5. Charge your destitute clientele on a day to day basis PAY OR YOU GO, as a sideline you could also provide a past use by date food bank.

    6. One spin-off as well as the Ferrari maybe a Peerage for services to charity, the destitute and the “Big Society”.
