Needless to say, he was a Yorkshireman! We’ve always stuck our necks out and lost our heads. Literally that is, not metaphorically. Read up on:- The Norman conquest (harrowing of the north); The Pilgrimage of Grace; Scargill and the miners, etc.
I am a well-balanced Yorkshireman, a chip on each shoulder.
