I guess it’s been said many times before, but why this preoccupation with physical locations? Isn’t that a very materialist view? Surely faith is in the mind, and the memory. Most if not all the locations described in the Bible are no longer recognisable. Does that make any difference to peoples’ faith? Physical possession of sacred sites has led, and continues to lead to, an absurd amount of needless bloodshed and anguish.
Can someone explain?
