Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader, has said that children attending faith schools should be taught that homosexuality is “normal and harmless”.
Love them or hate them, faith schools are rarely out of the mainstream media of late and every bloomin’ politician has something to spout about them and whenever they do, I’m always reminded of how controlling and meddling these politicians really are.
In a pitch for the “pink vote,” he called on all the parties to prove that they supported full equality for homosexuals, and accused David Cameron, the Conservative leader, of being untrustworthy on the issue.
The Liberal Democrats support measures forcing teachers, including those working in faith schools, to implement policies to combat homophobic bullying, with lessons teaching that same-sex relationships are “normal”.
Mr Clegg said: “Crucially faith schools should have a requirement to have an anti-homophobic bullying policy at their school.”

To use the orifice of defecation in place of that of the God ordained birth channel, is to welcome all types of disease and to replace Christian love with that of carnal lust. Consequently, Nick Clegg – in advocating this to children as normality – shows himself to be as ignorant of N.T ethics as of basic biology. He is corrupting young pliable minds in supporting Sodomy!
As for him and his ilk using the term Gay; such a term is as much a distortion of basic English language, as the act of Sodomy is a perversion of sexual love whereby Christian men and women come together, with God the Creator, to bring forth new life in to the world.

Nick Clegg actually made this statement when talking about bullying in schools. I expect that all Christians would agree that we believe it is wrong for children’s lives to be made a misery in school by bullying. Even though we might believe that practising homosexuality is wrong, probably we would also all agree that no young person who believes that they may be homosexual rather than heterosexual should be bullied for this reason. So, up to this point, we would probably agree with Nick Clegg.
Nick Clegg is someone who believes passionately in many principles that Christians would also uphold: justice, equality, peace. It is because of this passion and his honesty that many Christians support him and support his Party. You are quite right: he holds an opinion on this issue that we would not support. Many people in the 21st century would share his view. We need to make it clear that, as Christians, we are in favour of love, kindness, fidelity and that old-fashioned virtue of self control. We need to make it clear that we are as much against promiscuity in heterosexual people as in homosexuals. We need to make it clear that although we call this behaviour sin, there are many other behaviours that are also sin. Lack of love for God and for our fellow human beings being the most basic sin of all, perhaps. Above all, our main concern should be to guard ourselves from sin, not to condemn others.
Love is the fulfilling of the law.
Let he who is without sin among us throw the first stone.

@ Rev. Pastor James Thompson: Not all gay men have anal sex. Some married couples do. Lesbians *cannot* have anal sex. You seem to be muddling up a sexual act with the participants.
This happens a lot though – Every time someone describes HIV as divine judgement on gays I think to myself that, if so, God must love lesbians. Because they’re at lower risk than married women.
@ Janet Ellard : I love what you wrote, though I don’t entirely agree with you.

That’s spot on. Thank you.
