Thank you Sophie for pointing me in the direction of our lovely Patricia (if she exists!). Honestly, Sophie (and all sincere people out there) the truth and authenticity of what you believe is in what that belief system has and is doing to your World view.

Do the teachings of the Catholic Church make you fall in love, first with the Creator ... and therefore, with God's creation. They do, for me.

I have stood up to antagonistic and anti-Christian views by listening to, learning about and from the Church, unrepentantly. That is our only defence (1 P3:13-15).

Again, these debates do not faze me.

Has anyone looked into Catholic Truth itself, run by the scary Patricia McKeever?

And this appears to be the tip of the iceberg.

The Church knows where she works best and where she means the most to the world - in matters of saving souls, not at this type of debates where the opposing parties have best seller and best actor titles!

The Church does not, will never, has really never won any debate in the world ... and should not think of doing so!! Why should she?? Her job is to win souls. I am supprised that she entered into such a debate.

But I am not fazed by this result and no christian is. As soon as I stumbled into the debate i actually anticipated and expected it, especially because of the society in which the debate took place!

We should try this debate in Africa.

I came across the debate by accident, or perhaps it was the Holy Spirit who led me there. It was worth much more than the football game I had been watching (my team was losing!).

Question: The spiel by Charles Spurgeon - please tell me how it is relevant if you don't see the bible as the inerrant (or even errant) word of any deity?

His arguments are based on assumptions that non-Christians will (by deign of being non-Christians) not accept. So... IMO, obviously... the essay is not relevant in this context.

Slightly different question to the 'RCC as a force for good' issue which questions it as an institution rather then on the accuracy/truth of it's founding text.
