Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm Zoo

Noah’s Ark Farm Zoo has taken an absolute battering from the British Humanist Association, because it holds to an intelligent design Biblical position. Because of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farms intelligent design standpoint and the savage attacks by the secular humanists, we here at eChurchWebsites posted a few articles about this:-

VISITOR numbers have gone up at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, in Wraxall, near Bristol, after criticism by humanists. The British Humanist Association (BHA) wrote to the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), asking it to stop promoting the wildlife park that advances a creationist theology.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm The Creationist zoo: how the British Humanist Association are turning into thought police

It seems the British Humanist Association (BHA) has become a self-appointed arbiter of science. In criticising a Christian-owned zoo this week, it seems to be aping Richard Dawkins in not only promoting atheism but also pontificating on what is or is not good science.

British Humanist Association (BHA) Watch: Still having a pathetic pop at Noah’s Ark Farm Zoo

As we wanted to “check out” the Zoo for ourselves, we actually visited yesterday and what a lovely day we had. The zoo is absolutely beautifully kept and it was a delight to see the Siamang Gibbons “new addition” a tiny little baby!

This farm zoo has lovely facilities for children of all ages, with playgrounds and trampolines as well as wonderful educational resources. The evolution of snakes was a fascinating and most informative read found in their small reptile house.

I never thought I would get so close to 2 gigantic Rhinos in the “Rhino Ranch” and it was a truly awesome experience when these guys stood up only a few short feet in front of us.

I ventured up to see the incredible tiger enclosure, however, the tigers had just been fed and were all fat and full up and sleeping soundly.

We took the opportunity to talk with some of the staff (who had no idea who we were and that we would blog about our experiences) and they were lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable indeed.

This family zoo farm is a welcome oasis, I was particularly amazed at the sheer size of the “mock up” of the Bow of Noah’s Ark, which wasn’t even full size!

This zoo is a marvelous place for children to be exposed to the Intelligent Design perspective, encouraging critical thinking from our youngsters. Just one example was from the information about bird songs found by the aviary, which  really raised questions as to how and why, in the theory of neo Darwinism, would birds need such beautiful and sometimes extremely complex songs?

Given all of the above, I think you can imagine our shock and surprise when the mainstream media released some rather negative reports on the zoo last night:-

Mail Online

Now, regular readers of this blog will be aware of how often we have to counter-balance heavily biased mainstream media reports, which have a tendency to be alarmist, negative (good news doesn’t sell) and particularly when they can have a good ‘pop’ at the Christian World.

From my own personal experiences of Noah’s Ark Zoo yesterday, these media reports that broke last night just simply didn’t sit right with me, as the animals are in fantastic conditions, the zoo is absolutely spotless and the staff are lovely. So I decided to email the zoo and ask for their response and this is what they have sent me:-

In response to the claims made by the BBC and CAPS; Noah’s Ark does not own or hold Circus tigers – they are not the property of the Great British Circus.  The Tigers at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm belong to Linctrek Ltd, a company providing trained animals for use in film, other collections and TV.  A Director of Linctrek is Martin Lacey who also owns The Great British Circus.  We have never, when questioned, withheld information regarding this.  It has always been well know that our Tigers and Camels come from a Private Collector in the North of England.

Tira the tiger died from a pre existing condition which was found following a thorough and legal post mortem.  Being a Zoo and a Farm we buried the Tiger under regulations covering farm land.  However, subsequently being informed of other regulations we acted instantly to remedy this situation.  The Tiger skin, head and feet will be used for Secondary Education here at the Zoo and is a common practice within the Zoo community.

We are saddened by the actions of the BBC.  After filming on our property without permission they edited the programme to sensationalise their agenda using questionable sources to which we are already in discussions with Ofcom.

The welfare of the animals is exceptional with Noah’s Ark passing government and institutionally accredited inspections.  Our team of dedicated and well trained staff provide excellent animal care and we continue to manage our animals in the best way possible.

The welfare of the animals in this zoo was obviously exceptional to me, although I am not an expert on more exotic animals, coming from a farming community, I know healthy livestock when I see it.

I would urge all our readers to treat with extreme caution this attack on the zoo from the media, and take it with a massive dose of salt.  The biased BBC has got it wrong again (and to think that we are legally obliged to pay for their biased sensationalism), which seems to be yet another attack in a long running saga, involving those who would rather the Christian world was not able to present the Biblical perspective of Intelligent Design as an alternative to random chance!

We will keep you informed of developments as we receive updates.

Reading about the Nohs Ark Zoo, and as a Creationist, Bible Christian, employee of Martin Lacey, and Animal Activist Antagonist, I still beleive that the BBC is simply another mouthpiece for the Captive Animals Protection Society, not an anti Intelligent Design bias.
CAPS only have to cough and the BBC jumps to attention.
Try GOOGLING “these once proud animals reduced to performing” – and you will receive a l-o-n-g list of CAPS (copy and paste society) letters to the media from one Paul Thomas , listed as CAPS Campaign assistant

I speak to these people regularly and ask are they creationists ? – Then has to have dominion over aimals . Evolutionists ? – Just survival of the fittest .

My family and I have visted Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm many times over the years and have always had a magnificent time. One year we took almost 30 kids along for my daughter’s 6th Birthday. They had a wonderful time. One might not always agree with everything the Proprietor Anthony says but you cannot fault his passion, dedication, vision and care for the animals. Being a farmer he has such a down to earth practical style. What the Noah’s Ark team have achieved in only a few short years is remarkable. My dream as a child was to have a farm and a Zoo. I take my hat off to Anthony for not only achieving this but managing to do so in a manner that remains so accessible and family friendly. It is a far cry from many other commercially driven outfits that can make you feel they are more interested in extracting every last penny out of you. It is perhaps Noah’s Ark’s relaxed, gentle and open “kitchen table” style that has worked against them. If they have made any mistakes I would suggest it would have been genuine error rather than anything malicious. I wish Anthony and the team all the best for the future. I will be supporting them and would encourage everyone else to do so as well. If you have ever had a great family day out at Noah’s Ark – perhaps now is the time to offer your support and appreciation.
