Washington, DC, October 16, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The global waming fear mongers are increasingly being challenged as their predictions are not panning out and their thesis is being questioned by large percentages of the populations in various nations. In a new documentary “Not Evil Just Wrong,” premiering in 27 nations this Sunday, two Irish filmmakers address what they call the “cynical fear mongering” of Al Gore and the threat “he and other climate change radicals are posing to our liberty, our livelihoods, and our nation’s future.”

“Global warming alarmists want Americans to believe that humans are killing the planet,” states a synopsis of the film. “But Not Evil Just Wrong, a new documentary by Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, proves that the only threats to America (and the rest of the world) are the flawed science and sky-is-falling rhetoric of Al Gore and his allies in environmental extremism.

The movie sets out to debunk the famous “hockey stick” graph that purports to show a unique burst of global warming in the 20th century due to humans. It also addresses related alarmist environmentalist claims, including: that humans are melting the polar ice caps, that the twentieth century is the warmest in history, or that the oceans will suddenly rise twenty feet with disastrous consequences.

Perhaps more importantly, the film exposes the human impact that proposed “green” measures have had in the past and could have in the future. McAleer and McElhinney relate how banning DDT (a chemical that controlled mosquito populations to stop the spread of Marlia) once led to the unnecessary deaths of millions of children in third world countries. Arguing that CO2 is the new DDT, the film explores how similar “green” regulations could destroy the jobs of hundreds of middle-class citizens in the heartland of America.

McAleer also says that, even if the world is warming up, it won’t be the apocalyptic disaster that the eco-extremists say it will be. As he stated in a recent interview on CNN: “Helsinki is one of the coldest places on the planet. It’s very rich. Singapore is one of the wealthiest places on the planet. It’s very hot. Man will adapt. But it’s not – this is not – you should not close down the American economy and drive jobs out of America and stop using fossil fuels for fake science.”

The filmmakers, who are married, have previously made a documentary called Mine Your Own Business, which argued that similarly utopian environmentalists are harming communities in the third world.

The film is being released on October 18th. Because they have been unable to convince a movie distributor to take on the film. However, the producers say the movie is being screened simultaneously in 6,000 alternative venues and even in people’s homes in 27 countries this Sunday.
