The Elders a group of eminent global leaders say Religious and traditional practices discriminate against women and girls
I had forgotten all about Nelson Mandela’s (AKA Richard Branson) ‘global council of elders’ until I came across this press release from them:-
The Elders – a group of eminent global leaders brought together by Nelson Mandela – have called on men and boys – and particularly religious and traditional leaders – to change harmful and discriminatory practices against women and girls and give their full support to the realisation of equality for all.
Is it just me or does the term ‘The Elders’ send a shiver down anyone else’s spine.
They say about themselves that they were bought together by Nelson Mandela, but this is a lie. I read a book by Sir Richard Branson some while ago and this organisation is his brainchild, not Nelson Mandela’s.
Richard Branson envisaged a global elite of ‘elders’ that would supersede national, international and political boundaries, so that they could become the global ‘voice of reason’ and ‘global peace brokers’…shudder…fixing all of the world’s conflicts and problems!!
Now don’t get me wrong, rather like Tony Blair and his so called ‘faith foundation’, (Faith in rich and powerful men more like) they spout on about serious issues, but don’t be fooled, they merely hijack these emotive and sad issues to garner support, so that they may bring into being their global Utopian ideal.
Yes, I know I sound like someone who just simply enjoy’s conspiracies (maybe I am), but I am talking to the Christian world here and would ask that they shift their focus from thoughts of ‘the Pope is AntiChrist’ and look a little deeper into these ‘pleasant’ looking organisations.
These organisations hate religion in all its forms with a passion. They believe in the ‘man’ paradigm and that man can and will usher in a global utopia of peace, plenty and happiness for all.
They view religion as holding human society back and have a ‘faith in man’ belief. As they see themselves as is in ‘the know’, they believe that all they have to do is rule ‘in totality’ by consent, rather than by coercion, thus saving us all from ourselves.
The fatal flaw in the plan of course, is the fact that man is not a perfect being and therefore by definition will never usher in a ‘perfect’ world (Marxism would have been fine if it were not for human nature eh?).
Men caused the problems so therefore why should we now trust man to fix all of the problems?
Man cannot rule himself period. He was never supposed to, but the gauntlet was thrown down and God has allowed this to play out.
I will watch the global ‘council of elders’ for you from now on.
ps Ex President of the USA Jimmy Carter is one of the ‘esteemed elders’ and so it comes as no surprise that the following article was posted, as I was writing the above, on the National Catholic Register
Jimmy Carter vs. Christianity

Jimmy Carter has announced he is leaving the Southern Baptist Church because of his opposition to the church’s attitude toward women.
One can certainly empathize with Carter’s legitimate concerns about the mistreatment women endure in many societies. But he makes it clear he isn’t just taking issue with the Southern Baptists or their contemporary views on this issue; in the commentary he published July 15 in Australia’s The Age newspaper about his decision he attacks other religions for their positions regarding the equality of women.
And his article, titled “Losing My Religion for Equality,” also implicitly attacks the Catholic Church for allegedly purging the Christian religion of the women leaders who, according to Carter, were a prominent feature of the first three centuries of the history of the Christianity:
During the years of the early Christian church women served as deacons, priests, bishops, apostles, teachers and prophets. It wasn’t until the fourth century that dominant Christian leaders, all men, twisted and distorted Holy Scriptures to perpetuate their ascendant positions within the religious hierarchy.
Carter cites no authorities to back up these unhistorical claims, but it’s highly unlikely he’s basing his arguments on a careful consideration of historical evidence anyway. Instead, the former president is seeking to rewrite both history and religion to make them conform with his personal beliefs.
